Some adults love Disney as much as the kids do — I’m definitely one of them. While not everyone can visit the Parks right now, it’s easy to bring the flavors of Disney home by making a few of my favorite park snacks.

Why Make Mickey Mouse Treats

Recreating Disney treats like a copycat Dole Whip or Mickey gingerbread lets you enjoy a bit of Park magic at home. These Mickey-shaped Rice Krispie treats are a great alternative when a trip to the castle isn’t possible. They look and taste very similar to the versions sold at Main Street Confectionery and Goofy’s Candy Company, and the same technique works for other seasonal shapes like bunny butt Rice Krispie treats for Easter.

Ingredients Needed

You only need a handful of pantry staples, a Mickey-shaped cutter, and about 30 minutes to make these classic park treats.

  • Butter – salted or unsalted
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Rice Krispies cereal
  • White chocolate melting wafers
  • Mini M&M’s

The method is straightforward and follows a basic Rice Krispie recipe. Work quickly while the marshmallow mixture is warm so the cereal is easy to shape and cut.

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low-medium heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the Rice Krispies until fully coated.
  4. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 pan using parchment paper to smooth the top. Let cool for 15–20 minutes so the mixture sets but is still slightly warm.
  5. Spray a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter with nonstick spray and cut out six large shapes. Transfer to parchment to cool completely.

Tip: Roll the leftover scraps into small balls or press them into the cutter to make extra treats.

How to Decorate Mickey Treats

Chocolate and candy make these Rice Krispie treats feel extra special and park-accurate.

  • Melt the white chocolate melts according to the package directions.
  • Dip the top of each cooled treat into the melted chocolate.
  • Place on parchment with the chocolate side up, press mini M&M’s into the chocolate, and let set.
  • Reheat any remaining chocolate briefly, transfer to a small plastic bag, snip a corner, and drizzle over the treats for decoration.
  • If you want to serve them on sticks like the park version, cut a small slit in the bottom center of each treat, coat the end of a popsicle stick with melted chocolate, insert into the slit, and let set before serving.

FAQs

How do you keep Rice Krispie Treats soft?

Use fresh marshmallows; older, stale marshmallows can yield firmer, less tender treats.

How do you cut Rice Krispie Treats with a cookie cutter?

Let the pan sit 15–20 minutes so the surface firms slightly but is still warm. Spray the inside of the cutter with nonstick spray, press firmly into the mixture, wiggle gently, and lift the shape out onto parchment.

How long do Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats keep?

Stored in a tightly sealed container or bag, they stay fresh about five days, though they’re often eaten within a day or two.
