Caramel Banana and Cottage Cheese Parfaits may not be a traditional parfait since they don’t include custard, yogurt, or nuts, but they are an irresistible layered dessert. Ripe banana slices are bathed in caramel sauce, layered with whipped cottage cheese, finished with vanilla ice cream, chocolate, and a cloud of whipped cream—now that’s a treat.
This dessert combines soft banana, silky cottage cheese (similar to paneer but with more moisture), rich dark chocolate, crunchy chocolate chips, and a glossy drizzle of caramel. The balance of textures and flavors—banana, caramel, chocolate, and cottage cheese—creates a delicious harmony.
I made these Caramel Banana Parfaits to celebrate my mom’s birthday. I didn’t need a reason—I’m a dessert lover—but this felt special. Becoming a mother has given me a deeper appreciation for everything she did. These parfaits are my little tribute to her.
Yes, I miss her every day. Mom, enjoy these parfaits made especially for you. <3 <3
Previously I shared other no-cook sweets for the celebration, like a No-Cook Instant Coconut Barfi and Homemade 5 Star Chocolate Bites. The barfi is so simple that even a child can prepare it.
These Caramel Banana Parfaits are equally easy. There’s no cooking involved, so children can help with the layers and assembly. No-cook desserts are ideal when you want something quick, satisfying, and crowd-pleasing.
Bananas are a pantry staple in our home—we enjoy them every morning with oats—so they were a natural choice for this dessert. The assembly is straightforward: dunk banana slices in caramel, beat cottage cheese until smooth, fold in melted chocolate, and layer everything with ice cream and whipped cream.
Note on cottage cheese vs paneer: paneer is pressed to remove most moisture and becomes firm, while cottage cheese retains some liquid and is much easier to beat into a creamy mixture. For this recipe use cottage cheese rather than firm paneer; if you make paneer at home, stop before the overnight hanging and pressing stage so the curds still have moisture.
This recipe yields about 3–4 serving glasses depending on their size. If you make it, I’d love to see your photos—tag me on social media.

Caramel Banana and Cottage Cheese Parfaits
Ingredients
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 2 nos banana
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup melted dark chocolate
- 2 tbsp icing sugar (optional)
- vanilla ice-cream as needed
- whipped cream for topping
- few chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Slice the bananas into rounds and toss half of them in the caramel sauce. Set aside.
-
Beat the cottage cheese until smooth. Add melted chocolate and icing sugar, then beat until combined. Transfer to a piping bag for neat layering, or spoon if preferred.
To Assemble
-
Place some chocolate chips in the bottom of each serving glass.
-
Add the caramel-coated banana slices—about 2 tablespoons or to desired height.
-
Pipe or spoon the cottage cheese and chocolate mixture over the bananas for an even layer.
-
Arrange plain banana rounds against the inside of the glass to form a decorative ring, leaving the center open.
-
Fill the center with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
-
Top with whipped cream and drizzle extra caramel sauce. Garnish with a few chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
2. Dark chocolate adds depth and a slight bitterness that balances the caramel; use milk chocolate if you prefer a sweeter profile.
