We recently moved into a newly built home and quickly learned that settling brings little surprises—nail pops, hairline cracks, paint splatters and drywall dings. The finishing crews do their best, but inevitably some touch-ups are needed. At our 30-day walkthrough the house was practically covered in post-it flags, and I admit I was a bit obsessive about pointing out every detail. For now we’re leaving the house mostly undecorated so touch-up teams can finish their work, but I can’t wait to hang art and start styling the rooms.

Because we’re settling in, hosting Easter at our new place feels natural—assuming the major work is wrapped by Friday so we can tidy up before guests arrive. With furniture still under plastic and drop cloths everywhere, I’m keeping the menu simple. These Ambrosia Trifles are perfect: they’re quick to assemble, light, and the pastel Campfire® mini marshmallows make them festive without any fuss. And yes, store-bought angel food cake works wonderfully here—no shame in shortcutting for convenience.

I’ve always loved ambrosia salad for its nostalgic, childhood flavors. Layered with airy angel food cake and served in small glass dishes, it becomes an elegant, spoonable dessert. A dollop of whipped topping, a scattering of fruity Campfire® mini marshmallows and a maraschino cherry on top finishes each trifle with playful color and texture.

I’m collaborating with Emily from Jelly Toast and Campfire® Marshmallows on a few recipes this year. We’ve already shared treats like Biscoff Marshmallow Treats and have more marshmallow-forward recipes coming. Emily’s No Bake Marshmallow Cheesecake is another must-see—simple, creamy and ideal for spring entertaining.

We also put together a Marshmallow Madness pin board where we’ll collect favorite marshmallow recipes from a variety of food blogs—perfect for dessert inspiration.
