13 Stylish Rattan Daybeds and How to Style Them

Looking for a rattan daybed? You’re not alone. Rattan is trending, and daybeds are wonderfully versatile. I rounded up 13 rattan daybeds we loved while searching for the perfect guest bed — from splurges to budget-friendly finds. I also put together four mood boards to show different ways to style a daybed.

With every bedroom in our home already spoken for, the playroom became the only place left for guests to stay. I wanted to create a cozy guest nook rather than convert another full room.

If you’re short on space, a daybed is a smart solution. Daybeds tuck into small nooks and corners — something you can’t always do with a sofa. We placed our rattan daybed into a corner and it still looks intentional and stylish.

Rattan gives furniture a relaxed, casual look while still feeling chic. Those qualities make it an ideal choice for a daybed that functions as both an elegant and laid-back seating or sleeping option.

These rattan daybeds range from under $500 to higher-end pieces. There’s even a stylish outdoor option that would be lovely on a porch. I truly could have been happy with many of these choices.

If you need a compact, pretty bed for guests or a lounging spot, a rattan daybed is a great pick. They’re ideal for small spaces yet make a big style impact.

Which Rattan Daybed Did We Choose?

Full disclosure — my favorite was number 3, the Avalon bed. It’s beautiful and very tempting as a splurge.

Because this space is a flexible area and not a permanent bedroom, I didn’t want to overspend. We chose the Honey Rattan Daybed from World Market. Priced at $545, it fit our budget, and I caught it during a 30% off sale, so our price was closer to $400 — a great deal.

It also comes with a cute printed mattress cover, which instantly gives a twin mattress a bohemian sofa look.

I worried it might look cheap given the price, but in person the rattan has a warm, saturated tone and feels much nicer than the washed-out photos online.

Out of the daybeds I reviewed, this was one of the most affordable and one of the most attractive. When not used for overnight guests, it doubles as a chaise — a perfect spot to lounge and read.

Where To Put Daybeds

This daybed goes in our playroom. I wanted to provide guests with a proper bed without taking over space designed for kids. The playroom is nearly 500 square feet, has a separate staircase, and includes a private full bath, so turning a corner into a guest nook felt right.

Previously, guests slept on our big comfy sectional, which is lovely, but a bed is always more comfortable for overnight stays. The daybed allows us to free up the sofa for everyday use while offering a dedicated sleeping option when needed.

We cleared out an IKEA cube unit to make room for the daybed. The cube storage and baskets were useful, but we have other toy storage, so removing the unit made the corner more functional for guests.

To save on shipping I picked the bed up locally and assembled it at home — my husband put it together in a bit over an hour with no trouble.

I also created a few mood boards to help visualize different styling directions. Mood boards are my go-to method for planning a space because they show everything together and help me make final decisions on color, texture, and accessories.

My aim is to use the rattan daybed to craft a mostly neutral, slightly coastal, and very relaxing guest corner.

I’ll likely reuse a jute-and-wool rug from our bedroom — it’s the right color and not scratchy because of the wool blend. For bedding I plan to invest more — I want high-quality linens for guests, so I’ll focus the budget there. A full-length mirror is also a must-have when you’re away from home.

I love the idea of Juju hats above a daybed — they add texture and a touch of global style. You can mix colors or stick to neutrals to suit your space. They’re a versatile decorative option that can move with you.

A mostly monochrome palette of grays and whites can be elevated with the warmth of rattan and a plush white rug for softness. I prefer adding a few warm accents so the space doesn’t feel too cold.

This board introduces a pop of pink in the artwork and a simple sconce for a coastal, youthful feel. It could also easily suit a teen room.
