This peach BBQ sauce uses just four ingredients and comes together in under five minutes. It’s delightful on chicken, burgers, pulled pork, meatloaf, pork chops, and even salads. The sauce is slightly sweet, gently smoky and spicy from chipotle, and bright with fresh peach flavor.

Combining store-bought barbecue sauce with fresh peach, peach jam, and chipotles in adobo yields a balanced sweet-and-spicy sauce that complements many dishes. I often reach for Sweet Baby Ray’s for a reliable base, then add preserves and fresh fruit to brighten it up. As peach season approaches I enjoy adding peaches wherever they fit—salsa, desserts, and especially sauces like this one.

What you need:
- Your favorite BBQ sauce – Use whichever brand you prefer; I used Sweet Baby Ray’s. If you need a gluten-free option, check the label or use a homemade bbq sauce.
- Peach jam – I used Polaner’s peach preserves, sweetened with fruit juice, but any peach jam or preserves will work.
- Chipotles in adobo – La Costeña is my go-to; a small amount adds smoky heat and depth.
- Fresh peach – Choose a ripe, juicy peach. Press gently near the stem; if it yields slightly, it’s ready. Peel and remove the pit before blending.

How to make this sauce
- Place the barbecue sauce, peach jam, one chipotle (or to taste), and the peeled, pitted peach in a food processor.
- Process until completely smooth, pausing to scrape the sides if needed.
- Taste and adjust: add a touch more jam for sweetness or another small piece of chipotle for heat. Blend again if you adjust.
- Serve immediately on burgers, grilled chicken, pulled pork, meatloaf, or drizzle over a BBQ-style salad.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to four days.
